North Charleston -Van Buren- Mrs. Alma Mack Van Buren , of North Charleston, SC  entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 15, 2021.  She was the loving and devoted wife of; Mr. Melvin B. Van Buren for 52 years, her son, Mr. Cedric F. Van Buren (NaPrell), two grandchildren; Mr. Malcolm Van Buren and Mr. Mason Van Buren; siblings; Mr. Renazalo Mack and Mrs. Alzada McNeil-Kirkland. other relatives, and friends.

Mrs. Van Buren a retired teacher Charleston County School teacher touched the lives of many individuals through her 32 years dedication to the academic success of her scholars at the following schools; C.A. Brown High School, R.D. Schroeder Middle School and as the manager of the Ebenezer A.M.E. Head start program.

The relatives and friends of Mrs. Alma Mack Van Buren are invited to her walk through on Sunday, June 20, 2021, 5-7PM in the funeral home chapel. Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, 1PM at Royal Baptist Life Center, 4750 Abraham Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.  She will be laid to rest in Carolina Memorial Gardens,  7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406.  Due to COVID-19; everyone is required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  Arrangements by NORTH AREA FUNERAL HOME, 4784 Gaynor Ave, N.
