It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Douglas family announce the passing of Ms. Frances Elaine "Butter" Douglas, of Charleston, SC who peacefully departed this life on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Ashely River Healthcare Facility of Charleston, SC.  A beloved soul who touched the lives of many. She will be miss dearly her loving spirit, beautiful smile, heartfelt hugs, and unconditional love for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Douglas, Jr., and oldest sister, Geraldine "Shirley "Scott.

The most precious memories of Ms. Frances Elaine "Butter" Douglas, will resound in the life of her mother, Estelle Douglas of the home,  three brothers, Charles Greer, of Brooklyn, Ny, Fred "Leroy" Smith (Vanessa), of Summerville, SC, Romey Douglas (Jacquetta), of Charleston, SC, two sisters, Thelma L. Douglas, of Charleston, SC,  and Doretha E. Simmons (Tony), of Charleston, SC, one aunt, Azalee Washington, of Charleston, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends

Her Celebration of Life service will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 12 Noon, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2416 Meeting Street Road, North Charleston, SC 29405, Rev. Dr. Willis Glover Pastor, Eulogist, Rev. Tyrone Manigo.   A walk through will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, 6:00PM-8:00PM, in funeral home chapel, Ms. Douglas will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 2915 Asheley Phosphate Road.
