It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Franklin family regretfully announce the peaceful passing of a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend Franklin D. "Pookie" Wilson of North Charleston, SC peacefully departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2026.  He preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Wilson, brothers, Robert Rivers, Henry J. Rivers, and sister, Marcella McCall.

Franklin will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A hardworking man with a heart of gold, and his love for his family and friends was unwavering. He placed his faith and trust in God. May legacy lives on through his family and friends, who will continue to cherish his memory and carry his love in their hearts.

The most precious memories of Franklin D. "Pookie" Wilson will forever resonate in the lives of his daughter, Aleisha Gadsden-Wilson (Matthew), bonus son, Anton Gadsden, grandchildren, his sisters, Gertrude Rivers, Victoria Ross, and Lavonne Morrison, sister-in-law, Delores Blake, Gloria Capers, and Ada Bell Rivers, brother-in-law, Thomas Gadsden, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel. A wake will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 6:00PM-8:00PM, in the funeral home chapel.
