It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, brother, uncle, and friend, Mr. Gerald Lajai Maxwell, 40, affectionally known as," Jai", a resident of Summerville, SC transitioned from labor to reward on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.  He was the son of the Late Jearl and Sharon Maxwell.  Gerald will truly be missed by all, his smile, sense of humor, and his love for family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving children: Quamere and Janae Maxwell, two devoted sisters; Sherika, and Kenyatta Maxwell, a nephew, Karson Maxwell; and those of his grandparents: Mary Francis Lewis (George) and Shirley H. Brown, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The relatives and friends of Mr. Gerald Lajai Maxwell are invited to attend his walk through on Friday, January 27, 2023, North Area Funeral Home Chapel, 4784 Gaynor Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405, from 5:00PM-7:00PM.  His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, 11:00AM, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5885 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406, Rev. Dr. Timothy R. Simmons, Pastor. Mr. Maxwell will be laid to rest in Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406 .
