When I'm Gone

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile.

Forget unkind words I have spoken
Remember some good I have done
Forget that I ever had heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun.

Forget that I've stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way
Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of the day

Then forget to grieve for my going
I would not have you sad for a day
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay.

And come in the shade of evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best.

It's with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Mr. Henry J. Washington, 65, of North Charleston, SC entered eternal rest on Friday, December 1, 2023. He leaves to cherish his fond memories, a loving and devoted wife, Delphine Washington, two  children; Shonda Ferguson (Julius), and Nathaniel Greene (Shannon), five grandchildren, five sisters; Doris Washington, Eva Greene (Charles), Lillie Mae Doctor (Olan), Eva Green (Charles), Cynthia Dickson (Ricky), and Paulette Washington,  two brothers; Kenneth Cave (Ramona), and Alphonzo Washington (Vanessa), In-laws; Dr, Earl Williams (Bernice), Annalee Greene (Edward), Rev.E.Maxine Sharper, and Archele Wiliams, a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life service on Saturday, December 9, 2023, 12:00 Noon, North Area Funeral Home Chapel. A Walk Through will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5:00-7:00PM in the fuenral home chapel.  Mr. Washington will be laid to rest in Johnson Cemetery, 7136 Stall Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
