Smalls- Mrs. Johanna Edwards Hills (Momma Donnie) Smalls of 5543 Read Street, North Charleston, SC; passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.  She is the beloved mother of Mrs. Sarah Smalls-Harris (Sam) of Bluffton SC, Cordelia Smalls-Whaley (Jesse) of New York, NY, and Viola Smalls of Charleston, SC; survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, fifty-five great-great grandchildren, twenty-three great, great, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by one daughter; Elizabeth Betty Green.  Mrs. Smalls was born January 6, 1917,  and honored as the oldest living member of Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 110 Calhoun Street (Downtown) Charleston, SC at 104 years old.

The relatives and friends of Mrs. Johanna Edwards Hills-Smalls are invited to attend her walk through on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4:00PM-8:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Her Celebration of Life service on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 110 Calhoun Street (Downtown) Charleston, SC, Rev. Dr. Eric Manning, Pastor. She will be laid to rest in Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church Cemetery.
