She peacefully departed this life on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Medical University of South Carolina, surrounded by family and friends.

As we remember Montasia, let us celebrate the joy she brought into our lives. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to inspire us. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us to spread the same warmth and joy she so generously shared.

The most precious memories of Montasia Whaley will forever resonate in the lives of her beloved mother, Shonique Williams, father, Montez Willliams, siblings, Saniyah Williams, Cashmere Williams, Tahlia Williams, Jermeeq Bunch, Aleisha Whaley, Montez Whaley, Jr., and Nisear Whaley, grandmothers, Alberta B. Wiliams, and Elaine Whaley, and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Her Celebration of Life service will take place on Monday, January12, 2026, at 11AM, Vanderhorst Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 66 Hanover Street, Charleston, SC 29403. Her wake service will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, 5:00PM-7:00PM, North Area Funeral Home Chapel, 4784 Gaynor Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.  She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 2915 Ashely Phosphate Road, North Charleston, SC 29418.
