It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Heyward family announces the passing of Mr. Ray Anthony Jerome Heyward , aka " Speedy " of Charleston, SC who departed this life on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

He was a beloved father, brother, companion, and  friend. Anthony's presence and kindness will deeply be missed by all who knew him.

The most precious memories of Mr. Ray Anthony Jerome Heyward will resound in the life of his children, Aja S. Parker, and Anthony J. Heyward, Jr., his siblings, Sherrill Gupta, Diane Simmons (Leonard), and Estelle Bulter, his longtime companion, Sharon E. Bailey, other relatives and friends. A viewing will take place on Friday, April 18, 2024, from 6:00PM-8:00PM, in the funeral home chapel.  His Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00AM, at North Area Funeral Home, 4784 Gaynor Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.  Interment Private.
