It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home, along with the Sams family, announce the passing of Mrs. Rebecca Sams of North Charleston, SC. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Roper Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, SC, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Sams was a cherished member of her community, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her. Her beautiful smile and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Rebecca had a unique gift for making others feel valued and loved, and her encouraging words inspired countless individuals to embrace kindness and positivity. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. Her spirit will continue to shine through her family and friends, reminding us of all of the importance of compassion and connection. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Rebecca. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The most precious memories of Mrs. Rebecca Sams will forever resonate in the lives of her beloved children: Rachel Graham Bennett, Raymond Graham, Simoletta Sams Sanders (Williams), and Odina Sams Green (Timothy Brown). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her legacy of love and kindness in their hearts, her special daughter, Katria Acrum, and special son, Timothy Brown. Her friendship with Essau Richardson was a testament to her ability to connect deeply with those around her. She will be remembered fondly by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and compassion. The family will receive guests at 3318 Stoney Brook Road, North Charleston, SC. Funeral arrangements are currently incomplete, and further details will be shared as they become available.
Her Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11AM, Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5885 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Her wake service will take place on Friday, December 26, 2025, 6:00PM-8:00PM, Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5885 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Mrs. Sams will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery, White Hall, SC. Please keep the Sams family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
