I t is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home, along with the Johnson family, announce the passing of Ms. Renee "Nae Nae" Johnson , of North Charleston, SC   She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Williams and Paul Johnson, son, James Johnson, and siblings, Terry Johnson, Deborah Simmons, and Tonya Johnson.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, laughter, and heart of gold.

The most precious memories of Ms. Renee Johnson will forever resonate in the lives of her loving children, Sharon and Jermaine Johnson, grandchildren, David Ancrum, Daneshia, Santasia, Semaj, Mallory, Emoni, Ranashia, Malaysia, Trinity, Brooklyn, and Justice, great grandchildren, Caiden Gilchrist and Desiah Ancrum, ,siblings, Karen Heggins, Kevin Johnson (Wilma), Annette Mack, Yvette Smalls, Charles Temple, and Jeanine Johnson, a host of other relatives and friends.

Her Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11AM, Washington United Methodist Church, 2110 Monrovia Street, North Charleston, SC.  Her wake service will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, 5:00PM-7:00PM, in funeral home chapel.  She will be laid to rest in Cherry Hill Cemetery, in Ladson.
