It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home announces the passing of a father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mr. Richard Lee Johnson, 87 , of North Charleston, SC entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Erica Johnson.  The most precious memories of Mr. Johnson will resound in the life of his children, Kim Douglas (Dweight), Antonio Murray, Stephanie Mitchum (James), Shawntyl Gibbs, Raechel Sawyers, Jessica Johnson, and Samantha Gaither, his siblings, Linda M. Stokes, Leonard Judge (Naomi), and Alonzo Judge, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  The wake services for Mr. Johnson will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 6:00-8:00PM, at St. Peters AME Church, 4650 Sanders Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.  His Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, 10:30AM, at St. Peters AME Church, 4650 Sanders Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.  Mr. Johnson will be laid to rest in Peters AME Church Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to: NORTH AREA FUNERAL HOME, 4784 Gaynor Ave, N.
