It's with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of a husband, father, uncle, and friend, Mr. Rodney "Speek" Lafayette, a resident of Atlanta, GA passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, in Atlanta, GA.  He was the son of the late Nathaniel "Snookie" and Barbara A. Freeman-Lafayette, of Charleston, SC.

Rodney leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife: Jacqueline Lafayette,  children: Shameka Watson-Lafayette, of Charleston, SC,  ShaQuita (Byran Grant), ShaRonda (William Rivers), of Atlanta, GA, six grandchildren; Tania, Carolos, Caleb, of Charleston, SC: Aden, Allijah, and Azariah, of Atlanta, GA, one sister; Shonda (Williams Rivers), one brother; Gerard (Kenyia Lafayette), brother and sister in-laws; Rosie Matthews, David and Debra Gray, Maurice and Shirley Turner, Norman and Jacqueline Weatherspoon, Rodney and Macella Ellis, all of Alabama, best friends from Atlanta, GA; Jason Jones, PHD and Mary Scott, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The relatives and friends of Mr. Rodney "Speek" Lafayette are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00AM, in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1440 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
