I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Thomas P. Freshwater, you have completed your assignment on earth. I have a gold crown, white robe, and a mansion prepared for you over here, where the streets are paved with gold and the feast of the Lord is going on.  Come on, take my hand, my child, and join the heavenly army. I can see Rev. Freshwater as he smiled and said, "God, I know you were coming one day, I'm ready for my heavenly reward." He took master's hand and bid this old-world farewell.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Freshwater family regretfully announce the peaceful passing of a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and dedicated member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Thomas Preston Freshwater of Goose Creek, SC departed this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, son, Antrone Freshwater, sibling, Rose Overton (John), sister in laws, Louise and Addie Freshwater.

Rev. Freshwater will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. His unwavering love for God, smile that would light up a room, humor, encouraging words, spirt of giving, outstanding Sunday School teacher, employee, husband, father, and oh God, his presence brought comfort and happiness to those around him, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.

The most precious memories of Rev. Thomas P. Freshwate r will forever resonate in the lives of his caring wife Waltzenia Jones Freshwater, his children, Donovan Herbert, and Amanda (Johnny), his siblings, Melvin Freshwater, Paulette Spellman (Willie), Theodore Freshwater, Linda George, Robert Freshwater (Shirley), McLinton Freshwater (Shirley), Marvin Freshwater, and Willie Freshwater (Monique), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday, July 22 ,2026, at 11:00 AM, Joshua Missionary Baptist Church, 2482 Faber Road, North Charleston, SC 29405.  A Christian Wake will take place on Tuesday, 21, 2026, 6:00-8:00PM, Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5885 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. Rev. Freshwater will be laid to rest in Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.   Please keep the Freshwater family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
