It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Murray family announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Deacon Thomas P. Murray, 93, of North Charleston, SC who answered the Master's call and abound for a city called Heaven, he made  his home.  Deacon Murray will be missed dearly by family, friends, and the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Family, his loving smile, firm handshake, encouraging words, and informing us to lean and depend on a man called Jesus, who will never leave or forsake you.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, Isaiah Murray and Lucinda B. Murray, Sr., some siblings, and his son, Thomas Murray, Jr. The most precious memories of Thomas Murray will resound in the life of his loving and devoted wife, Mattie L. Murray, caring children, Janice Harley, Cynthia Adams, Sheron Murray, Wendie Franklin (Darryl), Angeline Murray, and Carolyn Jones, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, sister, Marie Murray, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 6:00-8:00PM in the funeral home chapel.  His Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 1:00PM, Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 1291 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
