It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Dent family announces the passing of Mr. Tyrone Lamar Dent, 51, of Charleston, SC, who passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was affectionately known as "Heavy D" and "Noot." Mr. Dent resided at 3115 Conservancy Lane in Charleston, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Harry Dent, Sr., and sister, Carolyn V, Dent.

The most precious memories of Mr. Dent will resound in the life of his mother, Mrs. Rosa White Dent, his siblings: Mrs. Esther Frazier (Late Vernon), Mrs. Harriet D. Bonaparte (Rev. Alvin, Sr.), SFC. Harry Dent, Jr. (Brenda), and Mrs. Shirley Stokes (Deacon Allen), special sister, Crystal Dent (Stanley) and special daughter Simone Dent McFadden (Michael), other relatives and friends also mourn his passing.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home chapel. His Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Victory Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1291 Remount Road, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406. Rev. Dr. Alvin E Bonaparte, Sr., will officiate the service.

Mr. Dent will be laid to rest in Faith Cemetery, situated on Old Military Road in Adams Run, South Carolina. The family requests that attendees wear black and gold attire.
