It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Management and Staff of North Area Funeral Home along with the Holmes family announce the passing of Ms. Wilhelmina Holmes Jones , who peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Jones, parents, Harry Holmes, Sr., and Ernestine Washington Holmes, and brother, Harry Holmes, Jr. Wilhelmina was more a mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a beacon of light whose presence warmed every soul she encountered. She loved fiercely, gave selflessly and stood as an unshakable pillar of faith, wisdom, and grace. Her legacy isn't, remembered, it continues to live on through her family and friends.
The most precious memories of Ms. Wilhelmina Holmes Jones will resound in the life of her children, Tona Jones, Kimberly Jones White (Willie, Sr.) Elizabeth Pratt (Rashon Sr.), Ericka Boston, Dr. Vernetta Boston Kosalka, and Dwight Heyward, her sister, Ernestine "Betty Jean" Laribo, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Her Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 1:00PM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 134 Phillip Street, Charleston, SC 29403. A viewing will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 5:00PM-8:00PM, in the funeral home chapel. Ms. Wilhelmina Holmes Jones will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, 2660 Spruill Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.
